Foreigner making business in Slovakia

Who is a foreigner in Slovakia?

– a natural person with a residence other than in Slovak Republic,

– legal entity with its legal seat other than in Slovak Republic

Foreigner making business is understood as foreigner having his business (limited liability company or trade license) or organizational branch in Slovakia.

Foreign entity can start making business in Slovakia from the moment of registration of the entity to the Commercial register.

In order to be registered to the Commercial register few requirements must be fulfilled.

The EU nationals do not need residence permit in order to make business in Slovakia and get registered at Commercial register, but third country nationals can be registered to the Commercial register only if they have a residence permit for business.

Foreigner entity can:

• be a founder of a Slovak legal entity,
• be a sole shareholder

The management body of a Slovak company must submit the Criminal record from his country of residence and from the country of which he is a citizen. This Criminal record must be officially translated with apostille or legalization.
